About SoCal Sea Turtles, Inc.
SoCal Sea Turtles, Inc. is an all volunteer 501(c)(3) federally-recognized non-profit organization dedicated to promoting small-scale fisheries while also protecting the West Coast's sea turtles and their coastal habitats from harm. We achieve these goals through in-person and online outreach and education, as well as consulting services.
SoCal Sea Turtles works with local businesses, non-profits, and government organizations to promote safer boating and fishing around sea turtles in their nearshore habitats. This work includes designing and distributing sea turtle awareness materials for brick-and-mortar businesses like marinas and bait & tackle shops, as well as a robust calendar of in-person and online events, including talks, a Traveling Sea Turtle Table, and social media channels.
SoCal Sea Turtles believes that prevention is the best medicine, and our programs and awareness materials are all designed with this principle in mind. Whether it is a 10-foot by 10-foot seawall sign, or a reflective decal for tackle boxes, everything SoCal Sea Turtles produces is meant to help people learn how to safely share our local waterways with sea turtles, without diminishing people's enjoyment of California's abundant and beautiful natural resources.
